Danielle's Baby Shower

Yesterday we celebrated our close friend Danielle at her baby shower. My friends Caroline and Deanna and I all drove down to the shower together and it was a really great time. The shower was actually at Danielle's home so it was very laid back and relaxing. Danielle is a beautiful woman and is beyond glowing in her pregnancy. Her husband Ralph along with Caroline and Deanna's husbands has been friends with Nick for years. It's really great to have a close knit group of friends. My only complaint is that we don't get together more often. I told Danielle's best friend Heather that I'd be happy to take photos so she could relax and enjoy the party that she and Danielle's Mom and Ralph's Mom put together.

Pics from MA Baby Shower

Here we go! Apparently it works if you just do one at a time. Thanks to Brooke for playing photographer for the day!

Self Pic before we left...certainly not getting any smaller ;)

The adorable centerpieces - so many diapers! And so appreciated! The favors were adorable different jungle animal chocolate lollipops (the nursery is giraffe themed)

The incredible red velvet cake! So amazing! Made by Cakes by Michelle in Billerica

My favorite work peeps and my friend Heather

Me and the Nashua Girls!

Adorable outfits from Brookealicious - she also bought me the video monitoring system because she is nuts, oh I mean incredibly generous ;)

So this is Elmo wearing a hilarious onesie (it's made to look like a work shirt with a tie and pocket), riding a bicycle made of diapers, blankets, a baby bottle, socks, etc. Adorable and so clever! From my friend Monica and her daughter Chloe.

Jessie, me, and Tracie

Raffi...the awesome fat ass giraffe that Jessie gave me - I squished him into the changing table shelf and couldn't stop laughing! He doesn't seem to like it though.

Massachusetts Baby Shower

I had my third and final (phew!) baby shower yesterday at Lenzi's in Dracut, MA, yesterday. Nick's sister Alexis and Momma D (Tami) put it together and it was just beautiful! We got many more amazing gifts, baby clothes, and really everything we could possible every need for our little boy to be. The food was delicious and the cake was so beautiful, it was the perfect party! My friend Jessie from CT made it and I was so happy to see her, it had been almost three years (her wedding in 2009) since we last saw each other! There was also plenty of family and friends that I had not seen in awhile, along with some of my favorite co-workers, so it really was just a great day.

After the shower I of course had to wash and put away just about everything that I possibly could, so I am super tired today. Also, my hands and fingers are pretty swollen and uncomfortable, and my lower back is not feeling so great. I would have loved to take the day off from work, but I just don't have the time to do so. I've come this far now though, and am so excited to be in the home stretch.

The picture upload is once again not working on Blogger so I'll upload some images as soon as I can.

Work Baby Shower

The ladies at work threw me a (round two) baby shower this past Tuesday, since silly Nicholas decided to cause issues on the day the surprise was supposed to take place.

The people I work with are so incredibly generous - when I got married in 2008 they threw me a bridal shower and gave me an astronomical amount of cash and bought the casual china I had registered for. I work with about 100 or so people in my office and they are just awesome.

My baby shower was no exception - we got a ton of gifts, gift cards, and adorable Red Sox clothing (Nick was pumped) just to name a few items. Two of my co-workers, Diane and Elaine, made Nicholas beautiful hand knit sweaters. Brooke took a few pics at the shower, so I'm waiting for her to send me those and I'll post as soon as I have them (hear that Brooke? ;)

It's a snowy mess outside today and I'm thrilled to have a nice quiet weekend. I'm trying to savor them as much as possible since I know it will be chaos once the baby arrives.

Hope everyone is well!

NY Baby Shower

I am almost speechless. And if you know me, you know that's pretty much impossible.

I had the most amazing baby shower in New York today. My mom was kind enough to put together a shower for me so my 84 year old grandmother and close friends & family on Long Island were able to attend. I haven't seen my grandmother in over 2 years, so I was so thrilled my mom was able to pull this off. My mom has never really hosted and does not have parties with friends, so I know she was probably pretty stressed about the whole thing.

The generosity of my family and friends is what has left me (almost) speechless. From my friend Lisa and her family that I have known since I was around 12 years old, to my Aunt who traveled from Pennsylvania to be there, it was just incredible. My Mom and her sisters were up at all hours cooking, baking and preparing, the house looked beautiful, and I had the most wonderful day. The food was fantastic and it was all homemade. My mom invited a few of her friends that I had never met and they also brought the most wonderful gifts. I couldn't ask for anything more. Baby Nicholas is going to be one spoiled little guy!

Here are a few pics of the day:

Nick, Erik, and Bella

Me opening my first of many many gifts!

This was amazing - my friend Lisa and her family gave me a huge box and on the top was a little frog that said "pull", I proceeded to pull out a super long clothesline full of clothing from birth to a few years old - so adorable and such a great idea!

Lisa and her sister Christina - I've known these girls forever!

Mom, Me, Aunt Ginger, Grandma, and Aunt Cookie (my mom's sisters and my grandmother)
