Today I celebrated a few of my favorite Mom's with a Mother's Day Brunch. It was a beautiful and relaxing day and it was great to just sit back, with no kiddos (except for beautiful Maggie!), and just have some girl time.
I'm very fortunate to have so many wonderful Mom friends, but wanted to keep it low key and it was just perfect.

Mother's Day
Not going to lie, I had the most amazing Mother's Day ever. And the best part? We didn't do anything special at all.
Nick bought me a new diaper bag I wanted (yeah you read that right, how our priorities change, huh?) and a gift certificate for a manicure/pedicure "from" Nicholas. Nick knows how I like to get my nails done but rarely treat myself so it was the perfect gift.
The baby woke up around his regular time (6:40 so a little later than normal) and Nick told me I could sleep late. Since I have no idea what those words mean, I got up with Nick and Nicholas. I went grocery shopping (which I love to do), and then I came home and Nick made all of us breakfast.
I then headed up to run some errands and came home and just made lunch, and we ordered take out for dinner.
That's really it. Honestly, the reason it has been so great is that I've been going through a lot recently (more to follow, soon enough) and Nick has just been so incredibly wonderful to me. I know how lucky I am to have him because he is so supportive, he listens to me, and stands behind me 100%. And on Mother's Day, he let me do exactly what I wanted, which was have a little time to myself and spend the rest with my family.
As far as my mom and Nick's mom go, we got them each a small gift that we knew they would like. I texted Nick's mom (she was working) and thanked her for raising the most amazing son and told her how I'm the luckiest girl in the world to have a husband like him. She wrote me back thanking me for taking such good care of him and for giving her such a beautiful grandson (alright everyone, it's ok to puke now:)
I have so many friends who are amazing women and even more amazing Mom's. I hope you all enjoyed your Mother's Day as much as I did.

xoxo

Happy Mother's Day
This morning I asked Nicholas- what are you getting me for Mother's Day? In return he gave me the biggest smile - I laughed and said "that's enough for me." Amazing how quickly I changed after having a baby - heehee.
Nick is heading back from the Cape this morning and then we're heading to his Uncle Al's 50th birthday party. Nick bought me a beautiful ring for Mother's Day, I have to have it sized but I absolutely love it - my friend Brooke helped and they did a great job. Here's a pic:
Being a new mom, I appreciate my own mom even more. I always thought it would be tough, but WOW, is it tough. Now that we're into month 2 I definitely see things getting easier in some ways, but I also give even more credit to stay at home mom's...I think that is the toughest job there is. I go back to work next week and I'm not gonna lie, a part of me is looking forward to having some adult time. Plus, I'll have Nicholas to come home to so when I'm hating work, I just have to get through the day and then I get to see him.
