Cousin's Party

Hi Everyone,

As you can imagine it's been pretty hectic lately with the holidays. I'm playing catch up with just about everyone and everything and finally have a free few minutes to catch up on the ol' blog.

The Saturday before Christmas we hosted the second annual cousin's party at our house. We invite all cousin's, significant others, and their children over for a holiday party. Nick's cousin Adam died unexpectedly last year so we do this in memory of him as well. It was a really nice and relaxing time. We also do a Yankee Swap and although there were no appalling/hilarious gifts this year, it was still fun.

Friend Filled Weekend

Nicholas is doing great and although I've been on antibiotics for 5 days, they don't seem to be doing much. I'm not in as much pain as I was, but still not feeling so hot. But, we had an awesome weekend filled with friends, laughter, and love.

On Saturday we finally got a Christmas Tree! It was pretty frozen so we didn't decorate it until this morning. I was just so glad we finally found the time to make it happen. Nicholas pulls off approximately three ornaments per hour, but that is to be expected. Two fancy ornaments are sitting on our windowsill and will be put on the tree in about 100 years when we don't fear that Nicholas will break them.

Some of my favorite ornaments:

Here are some of the other decorations:

Saturday night we went to our friend Matt and Deanna's house for a Christmas Party. We got hit with a pretty big storm so we went over a bit early and had such an awesome time. I was glad most people showed up because I know Deanna had been looking forward to the party for months:

Lastly, we had a bunch of friends over for football today. I didn't take too many pictures, but I did make some good food ;)

Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting and I put crushed candy canes on a few of them, it just looked so festive! Nicholas and our friend son's Brennan (below) were a big fan of these!

Sick but Can't Stop Won't Stop (and Don't Want to Stop?)

Nicholas went to the doctor last week and was diagnosed with bronchitis. He's on amoxicillin for 10 days (and is just about done). From these pictures, you'd never know he was even sick :)

Wazzup GQ?

I am also sick with a sinus infection and just got put on Augmentin for a week, which was perfect timing as I am finishing up finals this week. I had two on Tuesday, we self graded one and I got a 104.5 (damn Welsh v. Airedale Terrier!) on one and I believe I got 100 or close to it on the other. My FINAL test for the semester is tomorrow and it feels awesome to be one step closer to my goal of working with animals.

Nick and I had a wedding on Friday, it was for a friend of his I'd only met a few times, but we had a great time. The bride looked beautiful and happy and we all know that's all that really matters, right? ;)

Last week I baked a butt ton of cookies for the Lowell Humane Society Annual Bazaar- here are the wonderful pics of Nicholas and Dexter with Santa, which I will continue to do for years to come. Nicholas (and of course Dexter) showed no fear and took to Santa immediately. It was wonderful.

I hope all of you are having a wonderful holiday season and finding the time to enjoy it. It's my favorite time of year and I wish nothing but happiness for all of you.

xoxo
